Strelitzia reginae 'Dwarf'
Drawf Orange Bird of Paradise: Orange Dwarf Bird of Paradise, Strelitzia Reginae 'Mandela's Gold', Yellow Bird of Paradise
Strelitzia reginae 'Dwarf', also known as the bird of paradise, can be started by soaking the seeds in warm water for 24 hours before planting. The seeds should then be planted about 1 inch deep in a seed starting tray with seed starting mix. Keep the soil moist and in a warm location with plenty of sunlight. Once the seedlings emerge and grow a few leaves, they can be transplanted into larger pots or directly into the ground. It is important to note that bird of paradise plants can take several years to bloom from seed.
Some of plants may have very have specific germination requirements that may not be covered in these general instructions.
Many seeds require pre-treatment before sowing which we try to list here when we can, but this information may not be present here. Germination times and germination temperatures are to be a guide only. Many factors can DRASTICALLY affect this.
It's always a good idea to research the specific germination requirements from multiple sources for each plant before attempting to grow them from seed.
