Germination of

Lycium ruthenicum

Black Goji Berry / Black Wolfberry, Black Chinese Wolfberry, Lycium Ruthenicum.

Lycium ruthenicum

Lycium ruthenicum, commonly known as Russian Boxthorn, can be germinated using the stratification method. Start by soaking the seeds in water for 24 hours, and then place them in a container of moist soil. Store the container in a refrigerator for 30-60 days. After the stratification period is complete, remove the container from the refrigerator and place it in a warm, sunny area. Ensure that the soil is kept moist and that the temperature is between 60-70F. The seeds should start to germinate within 2-3 weeks.

Some of plants may have very have specific germination requirements that may not be covered in these general instructions.

Many seeds require pre-treatment before sowing which we try to list here when we can, but this information may not be present here.  Germination times and germination temperatures are to be a guide only.  Many factors can DRASTICALLY affect this.

It's always a good idea to research the specific germination requirements from multiple sources for each plant before attempting to grow them from seed.
