Germination of
Lithops dorotheae
Red Brain Lithops - Lithops optica rubra, Red Lithops, Living Stones
Lithops dorotheae seeds require a warm and dry environment for germination. They can be sown in a well-draining soil mix, with a pH level between 6.5 to 7.5. It's important to avoid overwatering, as the seeds can rot in damp conditions. A plastic cover can be placed over the container to maintain a high level of humidity. The ideal temperature for germination is around 75F (24C). Germination can take up to several weeks or longer, so be patient.
Some of plants may have very have specific germination requirements that may not be covered in these general instructions.
Many seeds require pre-treatment before sowing which we try to list here when we can, but this information may not be present here. Germination times and germination temperatures are to be a guide only. Many factors can DRASTICALLY affect this.
It's always a good idea to research the specific germination requirements from multiple sources for each plant before attempting to grow them from seed.
