Banksia spinulosa: Banksia spinulosa seeds can be germinated using the smoke water treatment. Soak the seeds in smoke water for 24 hours before sowing. Sow the seeds in well-draining soil, about 1/4 inch deep. Keep the soil consistently moist and provide a temperature of around 70-75°F (21-24°C). Germination may take several weeks to several months.
