Germination of
Actinidia arguta
Dwarf Red Kiwi Fruit: Miniature Kiwi, Baby Kiwi, Red Kiwi Berry
The seeds of Actinidia arguta can be germinated in a seed tray or individual pots filled with a well-draining potting mix. It is recommended to use a mix of 50% perlite, 30% peat moss, and 20% vermiculite. Sow the seeds on the surface of the soil and do not cover them with any soil. Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged, and place the tray or pots in a bright location with filtered sunlight. Germination may take anywhere from 2 weeks to several months depending on the species.
Some of plants may have very have specific germination requirements that may not be covered in these general instructions.
Many seeds require pre-treatment before sowing which we try to list here when we can, but this information may not be present here. Germination times and germination temperatures are to be a guide only. Many factors can DRASTICALLY affect this.
It's always a good idea to research the specific germination requirements from multiple sources for each plant before attempting to grow them from seed.
